Kathleen Durkin, a native of Alabama, earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, followed by a Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.Â
With a background in various clinical settings such as acute, residential, and emergency environments, she previously held the role of Mental Health Coordinator at a school, overseeing the development of the mental health program. Kathleen is well-versed in LGBTQIA+ affirming care and has worked extensively with diverse patient populations, addressing issues such as anger, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma, ADHD, grief, stress, and life transitions.
During her leisure time, Kathleen enjoys cooking, outdoor activities, and spending quality time with her golden retriever, Lemon, and her cat, Chester.Â
