Q: After my mastectomy how soon can I be fitted for a breast form?
A: Usually, about four to six weeks or when your doctors feel you are ready.
Q: Will people be able to tell I'm wearing prosthesis?

A: Absolutely not. With a proper fitting from the W.I.S.E. Center no one will be able to tell you are wearing prosthesis.
Q: Can lymphedema be cured?
A: No, it cannot be cured, but it can be controlled with proper care.
Q: How many breast cancer survivors in the U.S. will get lymphedema?
A: About 20 percent will contract lymphedema following surgery, radiation, trauma, or infection.
Q: How often should I buy new compression garments?
A: Compression arm sleeves, stockings, gloves, etc, should be purchased every 3 to 6 months.
